So what does Aqueous coating mean you may ask? - Well it is a water-based and breaks down harmlessly without any specialist treatments. These cups are far more likely to end up being recycled as they dont require any specialist treatments to recycle them.

What are the benefits? - Unlike PLA, aqueous cups are recyclable, compostable, repulpable and are even microwavable. When discarded incorrectly they will still breakdown at the same rate as newspaper. 

Does it contain plastic? - There is no plastic lining on these cups which makes them home compostable, recyclable and repulpable.
